Food for the Body - Mind - Soul
...Feed My Sheep
Body
Jesus fed the body of thousands with loaves and fishes. He provided his disciples with fish, after their nets went empty. Jesus understood the importance of the body receiving sustenance and the impact that hunger has on the mind and soul.He made a point that the disciples cared for the poor, the widows, the orphans. Those who could not fend for themselves and had difficulty providing for their own needs, are dear to the heart of Jesus. Compassion filled Him when he found those in need.
Mind
From his youth, Jesus taught. In the temple, he amazed scholars with his explaining of the scriptures, he imparted a compassionate teaching to his disciples and to those who heard him as he preached. Providing the necessary understanding of the mind, Jesus taught many of his lessons in parables. Giving simple examples of how best to live our lives for God.Paul tells us to renew our mind; exercising a continual fellowship with God. Through brothers and sisters in Jesus we can encourage and build each other's mind to achieve that renewal Paul spoke of.
Soul
Jesus said he would that all be saved. The salvation from spiritual bondage and hoplessness was the gift Jesus gave us through his sacrifice. Salvation is a continual process, by feeding the spirit with fellowship and the scriptures; we draw closer to God. The spirit of God is able to commune with our spirit when we are attuned to Him.When our body is fed and our minds are renewed then our soul is satisfied and easier able to commune with God. A distressed soul vexed by harsh circumstances has difficulty in coming full circle with God. As Brothers and Sisters, we have within our power to bring satisfaction to the spirit of those suffering around us.
